Ice Storm 2010

Well we did get some ice lastnight but I don't think it was as bad as they were saying it was going to be. It's snowing and it's so pretty. I'm just sitting here thinking of the ice strom of 2007, what great times. We lost power for 5 days I think, so we headed to the Goodson's house and then they lost power and Chuck and Eric smoked up the house woke all the kids up. That was a long, cold night. We all packed up the next morning and headded to Tahlequah to my mom's, on a normal day it takes about 45 minutes but this day it took almost 2 hours. we made it there ssafe and sound.
The ice on the power lines.
Ice that has formed on the fence.
Snow and ice on the car. I did go to Wal-Mart this morning, the roads weren't to bad a little slushy and really wet. Now they are snow covered.

Ice hanging off the trampoline, now it is sagging do to all the snow on it.

The snow is so beautiful, just hope we don't lose electricity. Eric is at work in Tulsa wondering if he will be able to get home tonight when he gets off, midnight. He stayed at his brothers house last night so that he know he could get to work today. We will see later.

The kids are really being good today, playing good together, being creative. I hate that they are all cooped up in the house but you have to do what you have to do. I ask them what they wanted for supper and they both said, "soup," so I have a crock pot full of potato soup cooking. YUMMO!!!!!

Cheer Weekend In OKC

We where at the NCA, National Cheer Association, competition at the Cox Center in OKC this weekend. MaKenzie and her squad did the best they have ever done. They stuck every stunt, pyramid, and no falls or bobbles in their tumbling passes. The best the squad had ever done. The girls came off the floor so excited and proud of themselves. There were 5 squads total in their division from all over Oklahoma. Then it was awards time, and everything changed. We know we had it in the bag and going to walk out of there in 1st place, but that didn't happen. We ended up placing 4th, do to getting a saftey deduction in the pyramid. The judges said that two of our girls as they we're coming down to the crunch position from the extension, broke connection to early and it became a single legged extensions not braced. Not legal in our division. Neither of our coaches saw that but the judges said it happened and we all think it a bunch of bologna.

This is my cousins little girl Marlo, she had to come watch Kenzie flip. She loves her Kenzie.

Kenzie ready to go. She is all grown up on me. Make's me sad.

MaKenzie, Marlo and Rya, another cheer friend, waiting on the doors to open.

My Stars

Eric and the kids were in "A Baby Changes Everything" the Chrismas program at church this year and they did a great job. Eric played "Nathan" a sheperd and MaKenzie played "Rebekah" Nathan's daughter, and Zane was one of the children in the nativity scene who came to see Jesus. What a wonderful job the whole cast and choir did. A wonderful message it brought. Good Job.

Christmas #2

Well Eric had to work on Christmas eve until 5:00 so the kids and I headed to Tahlequah to my parents and Eric came down after work. My sister and her new husband, Jordy had come in early do to the loss of our Memaw (my dad's mom) the Monday before Christmas. Its was an emotional Christmas, but a wonderful one in the same way.

My mom goes way over board at Christmas time in what she gets everyone.

This is the tree on Christmas eve. Santa comes tonight!!!!! More presents came to the tree Christmas morning.
Santa brought the kids portable DVD players for the car with new movies. MaKenzie's is pink and Zane's is blue. MaKenzie sitting and waiting to open all the presents she got. She got thing to decorate her new room. Zebra print everywhere and everything.

Zane got a new bow and arrow. He thinks he wants to be a hunter. The dogs in their heated beds. Lady got her's from Santa but Addie like Lady's bed better then her's so mom got Addie a new one like Lady's. Spoiled dogs.

It snowed on Christmas eve night and my brother in-law Jordy has never had a white Christmas that he could remember and he was like a little kid asking every five minutes if he can go play in the snow. Oh it was fun.

Zane, Uncle Jordy, Aunt Jess and Kenzie in their snow clothes ready to sled. The kids riding the sled at nana and papa's.
What a wonderful Christmas we had. Thanks Nana and Papa, Jordy and Jess.

Christmas #1

Well we always go to Eric's parents in Tulsa on Christmas eve eve. It was a little crazy this Christmas do to the fact Eric had to work until 8:00 on Christmas eve eve so we did Christmas late this year. It was so hard for the kids having to wait for dad to come home to open present. Once he got the kids had everything opened in what seemed 5 minutes.

Zane with his R2-D2 that is remote controlled. Thanks Grandma and Grampa

MaKenzie and her new DVD player for her "own" room. Thanks grandma and grandpa.

MaKenzie and cousin Emma. Emma really likes Kenzie.

Catch up on the Hill's

So I decided to finally get a blog. It's going to take me a little bit to figure this blog thing out, but I'll get it.

Well my kids are getting so big MaKenzie-9, is all into this cheer thing. She is on a competitive cheer squad in Tahlequah. She loves it. I never thought I would be a mom of a cheerleader, but I am and loving it. She has another competition Jan. 23rd in Broken Arrow so if you don't have anything to do that day and want to watch some cheerleading come on. She is in 4th grade this year and is doing great and loves her teachers. Zane-7, he loves to play with his legos and transformers. We have tried to get him to play a sport but he cries everytime it's time to go sign up. Zane is a very shy kid, and doesn't like to be infront of people, unlike his sister. For example last summer Eric and I was going to sign him up for baseball and everytime we talked about it at home he would cry, so i told Eric we should just go sign him up and make him play. So Eric was at work and I had the kids and so I told them to get in the car we needed to go somewhere. So we all got in the car and the closer we got to town the more questions he asked, so finally I told him what we were doing and he broke down and I decided it wasn't worth it. we turned around and headed back home. We got home and I asked Zane why he cries everytime we talk about signing up for baseball, he replies, "people will watch and cheer for me and I don't want them to look at me." There you go that's Zane for you. Maybe we can try it again this summer. Zane is in 1st grade for the second time this year and is doing so much better. He really needed a transition class but or school doesn't have that. He is liking school and his teacher for the most part.

Eric took a new job in Tulsa working at Reasor's as an assisant manager. He loves his job. He is also doing personal training at the rec center in Pryor on his off days or before or after work. Yes he is a workaholic(spelling?). I am working at the high school in Adair in the LD class and love it.

We have moved to Chouteau and love living back in town and not in our car.
